Community Blood Bank Blood Mobile
The Community Blood Bank of Erie comes to the Rice Avenue Community Public Library every other month on a Friday from 10:00a to 4:00p. To be a donor, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, eat well before your appointment, and bring photo ID. Remember, you can donate blood every 56 days.

The Blood Mobile dates for 2010 are: February 26, April 23, June 25, August 27, October 29, and December 30 (Thursday).

Preschool Story Time
The Rice Avenue Community Public Library holds a preschool story time on alternating Thursdays at 1:00p for individual children aged 3 to 5 years, accompanied by an adult.

Story time dates for Spring 2010 are: January 7, 21; February 4, 18; March 4, 18; April 1, 15, 29; and May 13.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Library at 774-4982 or 774-8286. If preschools or daycares would like to visit the Library, they are asked to call ahead to schedule a time.

Aluminum Can Collection
The Library is still collecting aluminum cans. They can be dropped off at the Rice Avenue Community Public Library during regular hours.

Book Sale
The Library has an ongoing Book Sale at Primary Care Partners in Fairview. A variety of books are available for any monetary donation. If you have any gently used books in good condition, the Library also accepts book donations, as well as monetary ones. However, the Library will not accept Reader's Digest Condensed books, reference books, or school textbooks. If the Library cannot use the book in its collection it will be sold at the book sale. Bring the books to the Library during regular hours.

Inkjet/Toner Cartridge Collection
The Rice Avenue Community Public Library needs your help with its Fundraiser! The Library is still collecting all types of used Inkjet and Toner Cartridges to recycle. Empty cartridges can be dropped off at the Library during regular hours.

Goodie Basket Raffle
Each month the Library raffles off a different themed "Goodie Basket." Tickets are $1.00 each or 3 for $2.00 and are available at the Library.
