RACPL Soup & Snack Sale 2012
The Friends of the Rice Avenue Community Public Library will hold a Soup and Snack Sale on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Girard United Methodist Church, 48 Main St E, Girard:

Soups are $5.50/quart
• Broccoli Cheese • Buffalo Chicken Wing • Chicken Noodle • Chicken Tortilla • Chili • Cream of Potato • Ham & Bean • Potato Cheeseburger • Potato Corn Chowder • Taco • Stuffed Pepper • Vegetable Beef • Wedding •

Baked goods and snack foods are individually priced. Preorders are due by noon on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. You must pick up your preorders at the church on Saturday.

All proceeds benefit the Rice Avenue Community Public Library and will be used to purchase new books.

Community Blood Bank BloodMobile
The Community Blood Bank of Erie comes to the Rice Avenue Community Public Library every other month on a Friday from 10:00a to 4:00p. To be a donor, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, eat well before your appointment, and bring photo ID. Remember, you can donate blood every 56 days.

Dates for 2012 are: February 24, April 27, June 22, August 24, October 26, and December 28.

Preschool Story Time
The Rice Avenue Community Public Library holds a preschool story time on alternating Thursdays at 1:00p for individual children aged 3 to 5 years, accompanied by an adult.

Story time dates for Spring 2012 are: January 19; February 2, 16; March 1, 15, 29; April 12, 26; and May 10.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Library at 774-4982. If preschools or daycares would like to visit the Library, they are asked to call ahead to schedule a time.

Aluminum Can Collection
The Library is still collecting aluminum cans. They can be dropped off at the Rice Avenue Community Public Library during regular hours.

Book Sale
The Library has an ongoing Book Sale at Primary Care Partners in Fairview. A variety of books are available for any monetary donation. If you have any gently used books in good condition, the Library also accepts book donations, as well as monetary ones. However, the Library will not accept Reader's Digest Condensed books, reference books, or school textbooks. If the Library cannot use the book in its collection it will be sold at the book sale. Bring the books to the Library during regular hours.

Inkjet/Toner Cartridge Collection
The Rice Avenue Community Public Library needs your help with its Fundraiser! The Library is still collecting all types of used Inkjet and Toner Cartridges to recycle. Empty cartridges can be dropped off at the Library during regular hours.

Goodie Basket Raffle
Each month the Library raffles off a different themed "Goodie Basket." Tickets are $1.00 each or 3 for $2.00 and are available at the Library.
